Modular Inserting Technology

At Cellesche Zeitung they needed high flexibility as regards the number of possible inserting positions in order to be able to react flexibly on the structure of the different orders. Therefore, Schur installed a total mailroom solution in April 2006 that is characterised by the modular inserting technology which is progressive both in terms of production flexibility and achievable speed.

Buffer Storage System

At Grafschafter Nachrichten Schur Packaging Systems installed a complete mailroom solution in 2003 with focus on handling high-speed capacity and buffer storage. At Grafschafter Nachrichten they wanted a buffer storage system that could give them a flexible production flow and with the Schur solution it is today possible to store a preprint during daytime and unwind it directly to the inserter as a supplement during the night shift.

High Speed Capacity

On a daily basis the high-capacity printing plant at Verlagsgesellschaft Kreiszeitung Syke in Germany prints 320,000 copies per hour. With an extension of the existing printing plant, they needed a reliable mailroom solution. Therefore, in May 2005 Schur Packaging Systems delivered a complete new highly automated mailroom soultion with focus on handling high-speed production. The installed mailroom solution allows a production of up to 90,000 copies per hour.

Flow Wrapping

The plastic film wrapper is specially made to wrap – thus protect and maintain – piled newspapers, catalogues, books, coupons, formulas, and the like. The machine wraps the pile, then welds the edges together to make a strong, flat seam. The plastic film wrapper works with the maximum capacity up to 35 bundles/min.
