The ESG report for the financial year 2024/25 is now available. The report gives insight into Schur’s progress on climate, environment, and social performance indicators, as well as our governance approach and structure. Explore, for instance, the development of our sustainability strategy and climate change mitigation actions.
Nothing on the sustainability agenda ever stands still. Luckily, neither do we. This year, we are altering our sustainability reporting slightly after the scope of the EU’s CSRD reporting directive was changed, and seizing the opportunity to focus on the actions that have the biggest impact in our own business and across the value chain. Our CEOs, Hans Christian Schur and Johan Schur, introduce the report:
“This year, we have increased our efforts to execute on the initiatives that move us forward as a responsible and relevant choice. Examples of this include a CO2e calculator on our packaging solutions, aligning due diligence processes across the group, increased work and education on the European Deforestation Regulation and Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation in the EU, and implementation of our new Group Responsibility Policy across all Schur companies.”
The vision, to “leave a positive imprint on Packaging, People and Planet”, remains unchanged. We are continuing to expand KPI’s, must-win battles, and stakeholder commitment under our key strategic actions: Minimizing packaging footprint, Reducing food waste, and Empowering our people.
This year, we have lowered our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 13.7% from 2023/24, increased the share of electricity in production from solar panels from 6.6% in 2023/24 to 14%, and were able to send 97% of production waste from the manufacturing of carton packaging to recycling facilities. We are continuing the work to strengthen education offers, connectedness, and progress alignment across the group. These are the actions that will keep us fit to tackle an ever-changing reality.
